Our First Annual Gala kicked off March 2022 and was a tremendous success in many ways: Raising Public Awareness and Consciousness of the emotional healing program we provide to Veterans for free; screening the award winning Documentary, “Veterans Journey Home” about a sniper who served in Iraq dealing with suppression of the physical, emotional, and spiritual wounds of war and how our Healing Warrior Heart weekend retreat helped him face and address these emotional shadows. This story was about Ben Singleton, who was honored at the event and talked openly about his experience and where he is now in life.

Yes, there were tears, moments of sadness, sorrow, ache, however the messages and living examples and shares of Hope, joys, laughter, brotherhood, sisterhood, proved once again that if we take the risk to confront the demons of the past, we absolutely have a chance at life and insist on enjoying it. The gifts are priceless but holding 10 emotional weekend retreats a year does come with a price. It costs about $1,500 to cover all accommodation and nourishment cost per Veteran. The other purpose of the Gala was also to raise funds to finance the retreats. 99% of what we raise goes back to helping Veterans!! We walked away in the black from our first event and after covering all our costs, we were able to cover the cost for 3 Veterans. We have long ways to go but the 1,000 mile journey started with the first step.
